CHI SIAMO
The seed of the idea for the Viandante Project was planted when Melinda first arrived in the Vallo di Diano. Having fallen immediately in love with the place, she of course wanted to know all about it. Her chance meeting with Luigi initiated a series of small adventures-- with barely any words of a common language together, the best way to communicate (and learn) was by show and tell. Most weekends found Luigi, with a curious Melinda in tow, traversing the countryside to show off some of the most beautiful places, the most authentic and delicious food, and the most interesting slices of life the region has to offer.
They are a native and a newcomer; an architect and an artist. Their combined points of view mean that they can share both the knowledge they were born with (the secret places, the old ways), and the connections they made between what they brought with them here and what they found. They can share both an analysis of the structure, and the poetry of the way light touches this hilltop, first here, then there, through the late-day haze. They share a passion for the food, people, mysteries and stories of this special place.

Melinda Borysevicz
Artist and painter Melinda Borysevicz is a New York native. She received a BFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah, GA) in 2011, magna cum laude. In 2015, a chance encounter led her to a small town near her ancestral home in southern Italy. Melinda's sense of "home-coming" was immediate and profound. She decided to stay. Greatly inspired by her recent re-connection with her cultural roots, her most recent work focuses primarily on narrative portraits and figures that spring from the stories she's discovered here. In addition to this studio work, she goes out regularly to paint en plein air in the countryside. Melinda's paintings have been exhibited in the United States: Georgia, Virginia, Ohio, Texas and New York; and in Spain and Italy.
